Description
Journal for the interchange of genealogical data and history of the Purcell (and variant spellings) families who came mainly from England, France, Ireland, and Normandy. One of the earliest records of the Purcell name was of Sir Hugh Purcell in Normandy ca. 1035 A.D. Some Purcells immigrated in the 1600-1700s to Connecticut, Delaware, Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia. During the 1800s, some moved into New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Quebec (Canada), Australia, and to Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, California, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, the Indian Territory, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, Ohio, Oklahoma, Texas, Utah, Vermont, and Wisconsin. Some joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and moved to Utah with the Latter-day Saint pioneers. Later descendants also lived in Alberta (Canada), England, and in Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Washington, and elsewhere. Issues also include annual lists of the names and addresses of contemporary members.

Their first reunion was held in Lawrence, Kansas in 1975, and have been held regularly in various locations throughout the United States.
