Description
Mathais Hunsinger immigrated to America, ca. 1780, probably from the Palatinate, Germany, with his brother Jacob Hunsinger, and settled first in either Pennsylvania or North Carolina. He married Mary Gears, possibly in Maryland, where she was born. They had at least eleven children, 1783-1802. The family was living in Rowan County, North Carolina, in 1784 and were in Fayette County, Kentucky, by the 1790 census. He died in Muhlenberg County, Kentucky, in 1805. After his death, his widow married a Mr. Grigsby and migrated to White County, Illinois. Descendants listed lived in Illinois and elsewhere.
