Hazel Marie Robinson was born in 1909 in Logansport, Louisiana, the daughter of Yancy Robinson (1882-1919) and Nannie Ditz Hardy Robinson (1887-1981); and the granddaughter of Edward Clay Robinson (1847-1916), Caledonia Adams Robinson (1851-1909), William Wesley Carrow Hardy (1854-1939), and Loia Hanson Hardy (1859-1908). She married Samuel Merrill, Jr. in 1937 at Shreveport, Louisiana. They had a son born in 1939 at New Orleans, Louisiana. Ancestors, relatives and descendants lived in Louisiana, Texas, Illinois, California, Mississippi, South Carolina, Tennessee, New York, Pennsylvania and elsewhere.
