Description
"Friedrich Hueftle [1860 - 1911] and Wilhelm Hueftle [1862 - 1925] left Germany in the summer of 1880 to avoid military conscription and to seek the opportunities afforded by the westward expansion of America. During the journey, they met Margaret Sanwald ... [who helped] them reach Varna, Illinois."--P. 6. and whose family helped them secure employment with the railroad. (Friedrich and Margaret were married 25 July 1911.) Later they relocated in Seward, Nebraska. There they were joined by "Johannes [Hueftle who] left Germany alone during the fall of 1880 and settled at Seward, Nebraska also."--P.6. In 1881 other family members left Germany to join them in Seward. Migrating further west, they eventually settled in " ... the Eustis Vicinity."--P.6. Descendants and relatives lived in Nebraska, Missouri, California, Michigan, Colorado, Texas, Nebraska, Delaware, Kansas, Oregon, Texas, Canada and elsewhere.
