Claus Jansen (1658-1745), a Mennonite, immigrated in 1684 from Germany to Germantown, Pennsylvania, and married Catherine Conrad. Descendants (chiefly spelling the surname Johnson) and relatives lived in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Florida, Ohio, Texas, Washington and elsewhere.
