Description
Newsletter for the interchange of genealogical data and history of the Newton and Forsythe families who settled Furnas County, Nebraska from 1877 to 1891. Their ancestors came mainly from England and Ireland. Some allied families came from Germany. This newsletter's focus is on the Newton and Forsythe families who settled in Furnas County, Nebraska from about 1877 to 1891, and includes their ancestors and allied families who settled in Morgan County, Ohio, and later moved to Sudbury and Marlboro, Massachusetts. Richard Newton left Lincolnshire, England in 1638, and settled in Sudbury, Massachusetts. George Forsythe and his son, Thomas arrived in Washington County, Pennsylvania in 1818 by way of Banbridge, County Down, Ireland. Their Forsythe and Newton descendants intermarried and established families in Furnas County, Nebraska. During the 1800s, many of their families lived in Georgia, Maine, Massachusetts (especially Sudbury and Marlboro Counties), Nebraska, New York, Ohio (especially Morgan County), and Pennsylvania. Later descendants also lived in England, and in Alabama, California, Colorado, Florida, Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Wisconsin, and elsewhere.
