Description
This supplement, based on diligent research and personal interviews, reveals that John S. and Adam E. Rinehart were brothers, and had the same parents in spite of death certificates showing different parents. They were both sons of Michael Rinehart (1801-1871) and Mary Barbara Shiver (Shifer, Sherer), and grandsons of Jacob Rinhart (1761-1846) and his wife, Eva or Effa. Jacob was probably born in Pennsylvania, and lived in Maryland before moving to Woodbury, Morrow County, Ohio; he was a son or else a grandson of a German immigrant named Jacob Reinhardt. John S. Rinehart (1822-1898) married Matilda Kreigh and moved to Indiana and then to Mason County, Michigan. Adam Ellsworth Rinehart (1847-1925) married Mary Mooney and moved to Indiana and then to Kalamazoo, Michigan. Includes a biographical sketch of John S. Rinehart. Descendants and relatives of Michael Rinehart lived in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Ohio, Indiana, Tennessee, Michigan, Minnesota and elsewhere.
