General Note
The cornerstone for St. Joseph Cathedral in the Diocese of Bardstown was laid on July 16, 1816 and the cathedral was dedicated Aug. 8, 1819. The Diocese of Bardstown was transferred to the Diocese (now Archdiocese) of Louisville on February 13, 1841. St. Joseph Cathedral is now known as St. Joseph Church.
