Description
Embreys were in America early, two brothers named Emry being with Captain John Smith at Jamestown in 1607. Variant spellings of the name appear in record books of Virginia, North Carolina, and Kentucky throughout the 1700's. The Embreys treated in this book went from Virginia into North Carolina, thence to the lands which later became Kentucky and Tennessee. Descendants have lived chiefly in Tennessee.
