Description
Newsletter for the interchange of genealogical data and history of the Coleman (and variant spellings) families who came mainly from Czechoslavakia, England, Ireland, and Scotland. Some immigrated to Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, and Virginia in the 1600's. In the 1700's, some settled in Georgia, Kentucky, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Tennessee, and West Virginia. During the 1800's, some moved to Alabama, Arkansas, California, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Maine, Massachusetts, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Hampshire, Ohio, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, Vermont, and Wisconsin. Some married into the Cherokee Indian Tribe. Later descendants also lived in the Mariana Islands, the Marshall Islands, American Samoa, and in Arizona, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, Oregon, Washington, Washington D.C., and elsewhere. Some names of slaves are given. Some have African American bloodlines. Earlier issues focus mainly on Colemans who had special influence on history, such as benefactors, businessmen, engineers, explorers, inventors, patriots, pioneers in various fields, politicians, etc. Information was taken from Bible records, biographies, burial records, cemetery records, census records, county histories, court records, D.A.R. records, letters, marriage records, naturalization records, shared genealogies, tax records, vital recordds, wills, and other sources. Years covered are the 1600's-1900's.
