"The entire collection of the Stevens family papers is now in the New Jersey Historical Society where they may be consulted in the Society's library. Brief quotations from the microfilm edition of the papers or from the manuscripts themselves are authorized without restriction, but publication of any major portion of the microfilm or of the actual papers must be approved in writing by the New Jersey Historical Society"--P. 7.
Description
This pamphlet is intended to serve as a guide for the users of the microfilm of the Stevens family papers, 1664-1959. The 46 reels of microfilm relate "... to the activities and interests of six generations of the Stevens family of New Jersey in that colony and state, and in New York City and Philadelphia. Papers of the Hoboken Land and Improvement Company, a family corporation in New Jersey, are organized and filmed separately, though an integral part of the Stevens family papers. They cover roughly the years from 1839 to 1939"--Introduction, p. 5.
