Description
Newsletter for the interchange of genealogical data and history of the Pleydell (and variant spellings) families who came mainly from Canada, France (especially Brittany), and the English counties of Berkshire, Gloucestershire, Lancashire, London, Oxford, Sussex, and Wiltshire. Some focus is on the posterity of William Pleydell (d. 1494), his wife, Isabella who lived in the 1400's in Coleshill in old Berkshire. Their son, Thomas married Agnes Oxenbridge. Another notable ancestor was Edward Pleydell (ca. 1570-1632) who lived at the Alkerton House at Cricklade, formerly known as "Pleydells," and before that was known as "Garters Place." Some descendants also lived in Australia, East Africa, New Zealand, the United States of America, and the English counties of Cheshire, Norfolk, Nottinghamshire, and elsewhere. Information is extracted from census records, wills, and other official sources. Dates covered are the 1500's to the present.
