Most volume numbers appear only on the title page, but not on the cover. The unnumbered issue for 1982 may be vol. 9, or vol. 10, or a double issue, vol. 9/10.
Description
Newsletter for the interchange of genealogical data and history of the Memmott (and variant spellings) and their allied families who came mainly from Sheffield, Yorkshire, England. Some allied families came from Denmark, Scotland, and Wales. Focus is on (but not limited to) the family of Thomas Memmott (1790-1866) and Sarah Willden, through their sons William (1814-1895) and John (1823-1866). William married Ann Wilson, and John married Julia Wilson, who was Ann's sister. Both families joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in England. In 1861, William's family (except the eldest son Thomas, who came later) immigrated to America with John's family. They landed in New York, and moved to Utah. They first settled in Cedar City, moved to Beaver for a year, and then settled in Millard County, at Round Valley, then known as Robinsville and now known as Scipio. Other ancestors include Edward Memmott (1809-1872), who married Ann Wilson Revell. During the 1800s, some Memmotts settled in Payson, Holden, and elsewhere in Utah. Others moved to Georgia, Idaho, Kansas, Missouri, New Hampshire, North Dakota, and Tennessee. Still others colonized Mexico at Colonia Dublan and Colonia Juarez. Later descendants also lived Alberta and British Columbia (Canada), Australia, England, Mexico, New Zealand, and in Arizona, California, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, Oregon, Texas, Washington, and elsewhere.
