Description
Joseph Henry Lakeway was born Joseph George Henry L'Ecuyer, 29 April 1860 in Clarenceville or Henryville, Quebec, Canada. He was the son of Francis and Julia Guerin, dit (St. Hilaire) L'Ecuyer. Joseph came to the United States about 1880. He married Leora Jane Quimby on 15 September 1884 in Littleton, New Hampshire. Seven children were born to them. Joseph married a second time, Ada E. Taylor on 14 February 1937. She was the daughter of Charles T. and Elisa M. (Penley) Emery. Joseph died 30 May 1951 in Littleton, New Hampshire. Leora Jane Lakeway, his first wife died 18 June 1929 in Littleton, New Hampshire. Both are buried in the Glenwood Cemetery, Littleton.
