Description
James Etchison (ca.1776-1849) moved from Virginia to Rowan County, North Carolina, and married twice. He and the family followed some of the older sons to Putnam County, Indiana in the 1830s. Descendants and relatives lived in Virginia, North Carolina, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Missouri, Arkansas, Iowa, Nebraska and elsewhere.
