Description
Newsletter for the interchange of genealogical data and history of the Boone (and variant spellings) families who came mainly from Denmark, England, Germany, Ireland, and Scotland. Some ancestors as are traced as early as the 1600's-1700's. Among them were German immigrants, Johann Jacob Bohn and Johannes Bohne (Boone) who landed in Pennsylvania and settled in North Carolina in 1742. Another progenitor was George Boone III of Devonshire (England) who settled in North Carolina. George III was the grandfather of pioneer statesman Daniel Boone. Other Boone families also settled in Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, Missouri, New Jersey, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, and Virginia. During the 1800's, some moved to Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Oregon, Tennessee, Vermont, and West Virginia. Later families also lived in Canada, China, Italy, Rhodesia, and in Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Idaho, Kansas, Louisiana, Michigan, Montana, New York, Oklahoma, North Dakota, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Washington, Washington D.C., and elsewhere.
