Description
Franklin Beard was born a Stanstead, Lower Canada, in 1820, the son Elijah and Lucy Horn Beard. His family immigrated to Franklin County, Vermont, when he was about eight years old. They migrated to Lewiston, New York, four years later, and to Huron County, Ohio, in another year. He married Jennette Breckenridge in Huron County in 1846. They had six children. The family migrated to Steuben County, Indiana, in 1854. Jennette Beard died in 1863. He married Helen M. Rust in 1864. They had seven children. He died at his farm in Steuben County, Indiana, in 1902.
