Description
Newsletter for the interchange of genealogical data and history of the Scheib (and variant spellings) families who came mainly from Germany. Some focus is on (but not limited to) Johann Jacob Scheib, son of Anna Taffler and Casper Scheib. In 1635, Johann married Anna Maria Eller, who died ca. 1640. He then married Maria Salome Wolff. Both wives gave him a son, and named their sons Johann Adam Scheib. From Johann Jacob's second wife came a fifth-generation descendant, Johann Adam Scheib (1707-1778) who immigrated to America in 1741, and settled in Pennsylvania. From Johann Jacob's first wife came an eighth-generation descendant, Johann Adam Scheib (1805-1872) who married Susannah Elizabeth Bayer (1808-1843). This Johann Adam Scheib immigrated to America in 1848, and settled in Wisconsin with his seven children. He later moved to Iowa. Descendants of these and other Scheibs also lived in Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, Tennessee, Virginia, Wisconsin, and elsewhere.
