Description
The Wills ancestry of Samuel Wills Bishop (b.1926), whose grandparents were English immigrants Henry James Bishop (1869-1952) and Florence Agnes Trampleasure, who immigrated to settle in Ludlow, Massachusetts. The ancestry is traced back to John Wills (b.1695), christened as a son of John Wills and Alice at North Petherton Parish, Somerset. The marriage of John Wills and Alice Garland in 1690 is recorded in Crewkerne Parish, Somerset, but the relationship to the christening in 1695 is somewhat tenuous. Includes other unrelated Wills individuals and families from parish registers in Somerset County and elsewhere. Also includes some of the descendants of Henry James Bishop in New England, Texas, Colorado and elsewhere in the United States. Includes many Wills individuals and families in Scotland, and some in British Columbia and elsewhere in Canada. Vol. 1 is chiefly family histories, arranged alphabetically by surname and given name. Vol. 2 collates genealogical data for Wills individuals and families in British censuses between 1841 and 1882, following by similar data from Scottish censuses, and then from United States federal censuses from 1850 to 1910. Vol. 2 also includes Wills family pedigree charts.
