Description
Newsletter for the interchange of genealogical data and history of the Folsom (and variant spellings) families who came mainly from England and Scotland. Ancestors include John Foulsham and his wife, Mary Gilman who left Hingham, England in 1638 to settle in Hingham, Massachusetts, and who later moved to Exeter, New Hampshire. John's surname was Anglicized to Folsom in America. Other ancestors include John Wesley Fulsom and his wife, Nancy Parker who settled in Ontario, Canada. Another ancestor was Ebenezer Folsom, who married a Chocktaw wife by the name of Natika. Their daughter, Sophia Folsom (1773-1871) married a Scotsman, Major John Pitchlynn who was raised by Chocktaw Indians after his father died. During the 1700-1800s, Folsoms lived in New Brunswick and Ontario (Canada), and in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Maine, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Vermont, Virginia, Washington D.C. Later descendants also lived in England, Germany, and in Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Delaware, Kansas, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Montana, Nevada, New Jersey, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Carolina, South Dakota, Washington, and elsewhere.
