Description
Newsletter for the interchange of genealogical data and history of the Tolle (and variant spellings) families who came mainly from England, France, Germany, Jersey (Channel Islands), Prussia, and Scotland. Some allied families came from Germany, Greece, Ireland, Norway, and Sweden. Some focus is on (but not limited to) descendants of Roger Tolle (1645-1709) and his wife Elizabeth. Roger came to America in 1663 on the ship "Adventure of Hull" and settled in St. Mary's County, Maryland. His grandson, who was also named Roger Tolle, left Maryland and settled in Fauquier County, Virginia ca. 1767. Other Tolles immigrated to New Brunswick (Canada), and in Maryland, Massachusetts, and Virginia in the 1600's. In the 1700's, some settled in Connecticut, Georgia, Kentucky, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Ohio, Rhode Island, South Carolina, and West Virginia. During the 1800's, some moved to Nova Scotia (Canada), Mexico, South America, and to Alabama, Arkansas, California, Colorado, the Dakota Territory, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont, Wisconsin, and Wyoming. Later descendants and relatives also lived in British Columbia and Ontario (Canada), Belgium, Honduras, Italy, Korea, Russia, South Africa, Spain, and in Alaska, Arizona, Florida, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oklahoma, Utah, Washington, Washington D.C., and elsewhere. Some had African American bloodlines. The Tolley (and variant spellings) families may or may not be related to the Tolle families.
