Description
Periodical for the interchange of genealogical data and history of the Dale (and variant spellings) families. Many came from Northern Ireland into Scotland. Some either came from or lived at one time in England, Germany, Holland, Norway, Switzerland, and Wales. Some focus is on (but not limited to) descendants and relatives of Sir Thomas Dale of Surrey, who settled in and helped establish the Virginia Plantation ca. 1617. Other Dale ancestors also immigrated to Massachusetts and Virginia in the 1600's. In the 1700's, some settled in Nova Scotia (Canada), Barbados, and in Connecticut, Georgia, Maryland, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Tennessee. During the 1800's, some moved to New Brunswick (Canada), Brazil, and to Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, New York, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, Vermont, the Washington Territory, and Wisconsin. Later descendants also lived in Arizona, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, Oregon, West Virginia, Washington, Wyoming, and elsewhere. Some persons changed their surname to Dale after immigrating to America, such as Kelng Johanssen Djuff (Dale) who was born in 1826 in Lauda, Ryfylke, Norway.
