Numbering Peculiarities
Issue numbers are comprised of the first two digits representing the last two digits of the year, followed by a hyphen, and numbers 1-4, indicating which of the four quarterly issues for that year. The beginning issue numbers were changed from two-digit to four-digit numbers beginning with the year 2000. No. 2000-1 (winter 2000) was the first issue published in the year 2000, but was misnumbered as no. 2000-4. No. 2001-2 (spring 2001) was misnumbered as no. 2001-1 (winter 2001).
Description
Newsletter for the interchange of genealogical data and history of the Armstrong (and variant spellings) families who came mainly from England, Ireland, Scotland, and Wales. In the 1600s, some immigrated to Connecticut. In the 1700s, some settled in Delaware, Georgia, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Vermont, Virginia, and in an area that was later known as Indiana. Later descendants also lived in Alberta, British Columbia, New Brunswick, Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Quebec, and Vancouver (Canada), Cuba, Norway, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Sweden, and in Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Florida, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma (the Indian Territory), Oregon, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Washington, Washington D.C., West Virginia, Wisconsin, Wyoming, and elsewhere. More information may be found on the Web sites, as the editor intends to continue updating the Web site after the newsletter ceases publication.
