Robert Stiles was born in 1637 in Yorkshire, England. He married Elizabeth Frye (d. 1673) in 1660 at Boxford, Massachusetts. They had seven children, 1661-1673. He and his second wife, Elizabeth, had three children, ca. 1676-1682. He died in 1690. His great great grandson, John Stiles, Jr., was born in 1771 in Saratoga County, New York. He and his wife, Phebe Norton, had eight children, 1799-1826. The family migrated to Meade County, Kentucky, in 1822. He died in Meade County, in 1848. Descendant listed lived in Kentucky, Indiana, Illinois, and elsewhere.

Anthony Chamness was born in 1713 at London, England. Family tradition says that he boarded at ship ca. 1725, not realizing he would be taken to America, and that in was bound out until he should come of age to pay his passage. He married Sarah Cole, daughter of Joseph Cole, in 1736 in Baltimore County, Maryland. They had thirteen children, ca. 1738-1761. He died in 1771 in Orange County, North Carolina. His great grandson, Joel Chamness, was born in 1800 in Daviess County, Indiana. He and his wife, Esther Ellioitt, had nine children. He died in 1838. Descendants listed lived in Indiana and elsewhere.
