Description
Daniel Dry was born in 1790 in Mecklenburg (now Cabarrus) County, North Carolina, perhaps the son of Andrew and Barbara Teems Dry and the grandson of Johann George Dörr. Racheal Lipe was born Mecklenburg County, the daughter of John Godfrey Lipe (1763-1849), a Revolutionary War soldier, and Barbara House Lipe (1768-1844). They were married in Cabarrus County, North Carolina, in 1811. They had eleven children, 1811-1833. He died in 1854 and she died in 1864. Both are buried at St. Stephen's Lutheran Church, Cabarrus County, North Carolina. Descendants lived in North Carolina, Illinois, and elsewhere. Some descendants spelled their surname Drye.
