Description
Newsletter for the interchange of genealogical data and history of the Ackerman family in America. Focus is mainly on (but not limited to) the family of David (Davit) Ackerman of Berlicum, Holland. In 1641, he married Lysbeth (Lijsabet) Belliers. They immigrated to New Amsterdam in 1662. One of their sons, David (1653-ca. 1714) married Hillegout Ver Planck in New York in 1680. These Ackermans were among the organizers of "Church of the Green" in Hackensack, Bergen County, New Jersey. In the 1700s, some Ackermans lived in Germany and Switzerland, and in New Hampshire, New Jersey, and New York. During the 1800s, some settled in British Columbia (Canada), Bohemia, France, Russia, Sweden, and in Iowa, Massachusetts, and Ohio. Later descendants also lived in Alberta (Canada), Australia, England, the Netherlands, Poland, Romania, and in Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Idaho, Illinois, Michigan, Missouri, Montana, South Carolina, Tennessee, Utah, Vermont, and elsewhere.
