Newsletter for the interchange of genealogical data and history of the Littlefield (and variant spellings) families who came mainly from England. In the 1600-1700s, some settled in Maine (especially Ogunquit), Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Virginia. Some were taken to Montreal, Quebec (Canada), where the surname was changed to Litrefil and other variant spellings. Some focus is on (but not limited to) Francis Littlefield (ca. 1565-1605) of Titchfield, England. One of his sons, Edmund Littlefield (1592-1661) left Titchfield, England in 1618, landed at Exeter, New Hampshire, and then settled along the Ogunquit River, in Wells, Maine. Other featured ancestors include: William Littlefield of Maryland and South Carolina; and John Littlefield (born ca. 1621) of Dedham, Massachusetts. In the 1800s, their descendants and other Littlefields lived in New Brunswick (Canada), and in Alabama, Arkansas, California, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, and Wisconsin. Later descendants also lived in Alaska, Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska, New Jersey, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Oregon, Virginia, and elsewhere.

The Littlefield Family newsletter was a quarterly genealogical journal founded in 1991, by Charles Littlefield Seaman (1930-2003) and Dorothy A. Seaman (1940-1996). It is published in their memory at Ogunquite, Maine by Peter Ruyl Woodbury (editor) and Barbara Allen Woodbury (associate editor).
