Description
Newsletter for the interchange of genealogical data and history of the Adams (and variant spellings) families who came mainly from England, France, Germany, Ireland, Prussia, Scotland, and Wales. Some settled in Barbados and Jamaica (West Indies) and in Maryland, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Virginia in the 1600's. In the 1700's, some immigrated to Quebec (Canada), San Domingo (West Indies), and to Connecticut, Delaware, Georgia, Kentucky, Maine, Mississippi, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Vermont, and West Virginia. Some were Loyalists who moved into Ontario, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia (Canada) after the Revolutionary War. During the 1800's, some moved to New Zealand, and to Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas, Washington D.C., Wisconsin, and Wyoming. Later descendants also lived in California, Colorado, Montana, Nevada, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah, Washington, and elsewhere. Includes some names of slaves and freemen. Some have Cherokee, Chickasaw, and other American Indian bloodlines. Some have African American bloodlines.

Issuing Body
The Adams Addenda Association was organized ca. 1971, by Ruth Robinson Seibel and Dorothy Amburguey Griffith. Its publication, the "Adams addenda" indicates it is an addition to the original family organization and research initiated by James Taylor Adams in 1929 by his 2-issue publication of "Adams family records." Ruth R. Seibel and Dorothy A. Griffith continued his works in the publication of "Adams addenda" from 1971-1995. The Association continued their work the continuing serial, "Adams addenda II.".
