Description
Newsletter for the interchange of genealogical data and history of the Bryson, Clayton, and Snyder families who came mainly from England, Ireland, Holland, and Scotland. Some settled in Georgia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and Virginia, and later intermarried and moved to the Carolinas from the late 1700's-1800's. Some intermarried also with the Cogdill, Fisher, and Queen families. Focus is mainly on early settlers of Jackson County, North Carolina, especially Daniel G. Bryson, George W. Clayton, and Adam Snyder, Sr. Many Bryson, Clayton, and Snider descendants established homes in North Carolina (Jackson, Haywood, Rowan and Cherokee Counties), South Carolina (Kershaw and Richland Counties), and in Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Missouri, Texas, and elsewhere.
Issuing Body
"The Bryson--Clayton--Snyder Families' Association was informally organized on May 7, 1995... at Sylva, Jackson County, North Carolina. The original membership is descended from several of the early settlers of Jackson County, North Carolina, especially Daniel G. Bryson, George W. Clayton, and Adam Snyder (Sr.)...also from members of the Queen, Cogdill and Fisher families who also settled in Jackson County in the early nineteenth century. Descendants of Brysons, Claysons, and Snyders whose ancestors came from other areas of the Carolinas are also welcome"--editor. vol. 1 no. 1 page 1.
