Description
August Russe (1843-1935), of German lineage, was born in Kunien, Russia-Poland, and married Louisa Ruse in 1870. They immigrated about 1882 (via Hamburg or Bremen and Boston) to New York, and in 1883 settled in Gillford Township, Wabasha County, Minnesota. After the death of Louisa, August moved to Millville, Wabasha County, Minnesota. Descendants and relatives lived in Minnesota, Illinois, Michigan, Washington, D.C., Florida and elsewhere. Some descendants immigrated to Alberta and elsewhere in Canada.
