Description
Newsletter for the interchange of genealogical data and history of the Munger (and variant spellings) families who came mainly from England. Some focus is on (but not limited to) the immigrant, Nicholas Munger who left England in 1639, and settled at Guilford, Connecticut. He married Sarah Hall in 1659, and had two sons, John and Samuel. John married Mary Evarts (1664-1734). Mary's family is traced back into Yorkshire and London, England as early as 1434. Her family also immigrated to Guilford, Connecticut and to Concord, Massachusetts. Mungers settled in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New York, and other parts of New England in the 1600's-1700's. During the 1800's, some moved to Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and Wisconsin. Later descendants also lived in Germany, and in Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Mississippi, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, Washington D.C., West Virginia, Wyoming, and elsewhere. Information is taken from shared research and family histories, including vital and special events in the lives of contemporary members.
