Description
William Huston was one of a company of Scotch Irish immigrants who arrived in Falmouth Harbor, Maine in 1718. In 1739, his son William, Jr. (b.ca1705) obtained 200 acres of land, all of which remained in family ownership 189 years. He married Elizabeth (d.1804) and was the father of Simon who settled at Gorham; Robert who remained at the home place; Sarah who married a Purington; Rebecca who married William McLellen of Gorham; Isaac; Mary; Elizabeth who married Reuben Elder; William; and Margaret. His son John (d.1747) married at Falmouth Mary Thompson of Scarborough in 1736. Several generations of descendants are given.
