Description
Libeus Forbes (b. 1773) was baptized at Upton, Worcester Co., Mass. He was the son of Absolom Forbes and third greatgrandson of John Forbes, the immigrant ancestor originally of Scotland, who came to this country from Holland in 1628, and settled in Duxbury, Massachusetts. Libeus married twice; (1) Hannah Warren in 1795. They had one son, Jasper. They divorced in 1802. He married (2) 1815 a widow, Elizabeth Higgins Stevens, in Ohio. They had seven children together. Ananias Whitman was born in 1767 in Orange Co., N.Y. His family settled in Huntington, Long Island before 1729. The immigrant ancestor, Joseph Whitman, was born bef. 1635 in England. He came first to Connecticut and then to Long Island. Jonathan Burwell was born 1760 in either Pennsylvania or New Jersey. He died 1829 in Union Co., Ohio. He was married to Hannah VanGorden in Tioga Co., N.Y. around 1790. They were parents of nine children.
