Description
Short history of the Drummond family, the Dukes of Perth, who built and lived in the Drummond Castle near Perth, Perthshire, Scotland. The family later acquired other peerage titles, such as the Earl of Ancaster, the Baron of Aveland, and the Baron Willoughby de Eresby. The founder of the family was Maurice, a Hungarian (said to have been a son of George, a younger son of Andrew, King of Hungary). Maurice and others were part of the Normandy invasion by William the Conqueror, and Maurice was honored by the King Malcolm of Scotland. The residence of the Drummond family has shifted over the centuries and is now in Cargill, Perth County, Scotland.
