Description
Thomas Harold Steere (1898-1975), son of Solon Roscoe Steere and Jessie Elenea Griffin Steere, was born in Asherville, Kansas. He married Sallie Susan Trammell (1904-1981). Steere ancestry traced to John Steere (1634-1724) who settled in Providence, Rhode Island before 1662. He married Hannah Wickenden. Griffin ancestry traced to Jasper Griffing (ca. 1648-1718), born in Penderyn, Brecon, Wales. He married Hannah in 1675 in Manchester, Massachusetts and later died in Southold, Long Island. Trammell family is traced to Dennis Trammell (1759-1849), son of Thomas and Mary Maccay Trammell. He was born in Amelia County, Virginia and also lived in Tennessee and Kentucky. Snow family is traced to John Snow (ca. 1638-1692) who was born in Plymouth, Massachusetts and later married Mary Smalley in 1667.
