Description
Newsletter for the interchange of genealogical data and history of the Davies families who came mainly from England and Wales. Focus is on (but not limited to) the families of Nicholas Davies, who was born ca. 1809, and lived in Pebbleton, England. Nick settled in Virginia in 1728, and helped establish Jamestown or Williamsburg. He and his first wife, Judith Fleming Randolph had no children. Later (ca. 1745) he married Catherine Whiting Clayton, and had a son, Henry Landon Davies. Henry and his first wife, Ann Clayton had seven children. By his second wife, Lucy Clayton Manson, Henry had two children. Davies descendants lived in Virginia in the 1600s. During the 1700s, some settled in Massachusetts and Pennsylvania. During the 1800s, some moved to California, Georgia, Iowa, Kentucky, Missouri, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, Washington D.C., West Virginia, and Wyoming. Later descendants also lived in Africa, Cuba, England, Germany, Japan, Spain, and in Alaska, Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Dakota, Ohio, South Carolina, Utah, Vermont, Washington, and elsewhere. Some have American Indian bloodlines.
