Description
William Cowden I (d.1745) and James Gilliland Sr., both of Scottish lineage, immigrated about 1730 from Ireland to Chester County, Pennsylvania. Descendants intermarried, and descendants lived in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan, Iowa, Kansas and elsewhere.
