Description
Robert Singleton was living in Kingston Parish, Gloucester County, Virginia, by 1704. In his will, written in 1724 and probated in 1725, he named his wife, Elizabeth, and six children. His descendant, John Floweree Singleton (1787-1859) was born in Fauquier County, Virginia, the only child of William and Susannah Floweree Singleton. His mother died at his birth and he was raised by his grandparents, Daniel and Susannah French Floweree. He married Lucinda Byrne (ca. 1793-1880), daughter of Uriah and Lydia Brown Byrne in 1812. They had eleven children, 1813-1840. The family moved to an area now in Braxton County, West Virginia, ca. 1815. Descendants lived in West Virginia, Ohio, and elsewhere.
