Description
Ancestors and descendants of Van Buren Flatt (1833-1911), son of Andrew Jackson Flatt and Margaret Ann Hill. He was born in Muncy, Pennsylvania, and died in Des Moines, Polk, Iowa. He married 1860 in Aquawka, Illinois, Gately Ann Beebe (1843-1921), daughter of Cornelius D. Beebe and Margaret Box. She was born in Henry, Iowa. The Flatt (Van der Vliet) family originated from Holland. Jan Dirck Van der Vliet (1659-1722), was born in Waal, the Netherlands, Holland, and died in Middlesex, N.J. He married 1682 in King, N.Y., Geertie G. (Verkirk) Verke. The Beebe family came from England. Samuel Beebe (1633-1712) was born at St. Andrews Ch. Br., England, and died in New London, Conn. He married 1660 in Cape Ann, New London, Conn., Mary Agnes K. Keeney (1640-1726).
