Description
Newsletter for the interchange of genealogical data and history of the Greer (and variant spellings) families who came mainly from England, Ireland, and Scotland. Some descended from Sir James Greer (ca. 1604-1666) of Dumfries, Scotland who immigrated to Maryland in 1674. Another branch descends from Joseph Greer who was born ca. 1800 and immigrated from Ireland to Canada. Greers also lived Georgia, Kentucky, Maryland, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and Virginia in the 1700s. During the 1800s, some moved to Brazil, and to Alabama, Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Ohio, South Carolina, and Texas. Later descendants also lived in Canada, Hungary, Japan, Peru, Thailand, and in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Kansas, Maryland, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, New York, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, Utah, Washington, and elsewhere.
