Description
Newsletter for the interchange of genealogical data and history of the descendants of Aoidh who lived in Ireland. McKoy, McKay, McCoy, MacKay and other variant spellings came from the original Mac Aoidh, meaning son of fire. Some immigrated to America in the 1700's, and settled in Delaware, Maryland, North and South Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. During the 1800's, some migrated into Canada, to Africa, and to Alabama, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Missouri, New Mexico, Ohio, Tennessee, and Wisconsin. Later descendants and relatives also lived in California, Florida, Kansas, Louisiana, South Dakota, Texas, Washington D.C., and elsewhere. Some had Cherokee Indian bloodlines.
