Description
Newsletter for the interchange of genealogical data and history of the Borror (and variant spellings) families who came mainly from Switzerland. Some allied families came from Scotland. In the 1700s, some settled in Virginia, and near Petersburg, West Virginia. Focus is mainly on descendants of Jacob Borror I, the son of Jacob and Magdalena Fuchs Bohrer. He was christened in 1728, in Tenniken/Bern, Blauen, Switzerland. He died in Hampshire County, Virginia in 1778. Jacob married Barbara Tschudi (Judy), and immigrated to America ca. 1750. One of their sons, Jacob II married Magdalene Stroder, and had seven children. Their family moved to an area near Columbus, Ohio, which is now known as Borror's Corners. During the 1800s, some descendants moved to Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, and Ohio. Later descendants also lived in Alaska, California, Florida, Idaho, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, and elsewhere.
