Description
Ancestral families and relatives, chiefly on her maternal Wilson line, of the author's mother, Pearl Lucinda Ray Miller (1880-1977). She was born in the Caney River area of North Carolina, the daughter of William Alburta Ray (1837-1897) and Julia Jane Wilson Ray (1845-1934). While she was a baby, her father was injured in an accident building a mill. He had to give up the mill, so the family moved to a farm near Jonesboro, Tennessee. She married Dr. James Fuller Miller in 1905. He had graduated from Tennessee Medical College at Knoxville in 1901 and moved to Oaksdale, Washington, to practice medicine. He returned to Tennessee in 1905 to marry his childhood sweetheart. They had four children, 1906-1912. The family moved from Oaksdale, Washington, to a dry farm in Idaho, where Dr. Miller, continued to practice medicine. After Dr. Miller served in World War I, the family moved to Pocatello so the children could attend high school and college. Dr. Miller died at his home in 1936. Pearl Lucinda Ray Miller died at the home of her daughter Margaret.
Description
The author's Wilson ancestry begins with Thomas Wilson of Brunswick County, Virginia; and his son, Thomas Wilson (b. 1735) of Brunswick County and western North Carolina.
