Description
Chiefly a record of the family of Henry R. Elgie. He was born 22 Sep 1811 at Little Langton, England, to Simon Elgie and Margaret Chapman. He married Rachel Johnson 5 Dec 1839 at Danby Wiske, England. She was baptized 24 Dec 1822, daughter of George Johnson and Rosamund Davison. They emigrated to Canada after 1851. They were the parents of eight children. He died before or on 14 Dec 1864. She died 19 Nov. 1879.
