The descendants of Johann Friedrich Busse (b. 1800) and his wife Johanna Friederike Katz (b. 1803) who with four of their children emigrated to Elk Grove, Illinois in 1848. Their descendants number nearly 6800 in 1998. Includes Behrens, Deeke, Freise, Gieseke, Heidorn, Kirchhoff, Meier, Mensching, Meyer, Moehling, Rittmiller, Rittmueller, Schwanke, and other related families.
