Description
Martha Patsey Whitehead (1756-ca. 1828) was born in Virginia, daughter of William and Abby Whitehead. She married Nathan Atkinson ca. 1775. She later died in Greene County, Georgia. Her daughter, Rhoda (1777-1840) married Hiram Rowland in 1794 in Oglethorpe County, Georgia. Whitehead ancestry is traced to Arthur Whitehead II (1648-1710), who was born in James City County, Virginia, son of Arthur Whitehead. He married Mary Godwin ca. 1670 in the Isle of Wight County, Virginia. Descendants and relatives lived in Georgia, Virginia, North Carolina and elsewhere.
