Description
Newsletter for the interchange of genealogical data and history of the Reigel (and variant spellings) families who came mainly from Germany, and settled in Bucks and Lancaster Counties in Pennsylvania. Some focus is on (but not limited to) descendants of Michael Riegel (d. 1809) of Lancaster County, and his wife Magdalena Wittmer (d. 1814). They had three children: David (b. 1780), who married Elizabeth Schmidt or Smith, and had 12 children; Martin (b. 1793), who married Elizabeth Klair and had 11 children; and Magdalena, who married John Otto. David, Martin, and Magdalena moved with their families to Ohio. Another of Michael's descendants was Henry W. (b. 1833) who married Lydia Thralls. They left Clark County, Ohio, and moved to Caldwell County, Missouri where they established the "Old Reigel Farm" in 1870. This farm was home to a large branch of the family. Another grandson, Emanuel, moved to the Yakima Valley in Washington state. Descendants and relatives also lived in Alabama, California, Illinois, Kentucky, Missouri, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Washington, Wisconsin, and elsewhere.
