Description
Newsletter for the interchange of genealogical data and history of the ancestors and descendants of Eugene Smith and Sarah Malinda Coleman (1890-1953) who married in Wayne County, Utah. They had eight children born from 1915-1943: Jay Coleman, Deama, Madge Eugenia, Ned Steven, Boyd Kenneth, Vesta, Bessie LaRee, and Phyllis Raeone. Sarah's parents were George Smith and Angeline Hunt Coleman. Eugene's parents were William and Mary Moss Smith. Hunt and Coleman ancestors left England and settled in New Jersey and New York in the 1600's, and later moved to North Carolina and Kentucky. Smith (Smidt) progenitors came from Denmark, Prussia, and Scotland. Other allied Danish families included the Iversen, Jeppersen, Johannesen, Jorgensen, and Moss families. In the 1800's, they settled in Canada, and in Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Missouri, Nebraska, New York, Ohio and Utah. Many joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and came to Utah with the Latter-day Saint pioneers. Eugene and Sarah's children grew up mainly in Utah. Later descendants also lived in Arizona, California, Massachusetts, Nevada, Montana, Oregon, Texas, and elsewhere.
