Description
Eight generations of the Barker family with focus on the ancestors and descendants of Robert Barker (1821-1883) and Emily Ramsay (1823- 1908). They were married in 1843 at Kingston-Upon-Hull, Yorkshire, England. They emigrated with their family from England ca. 1852, via Quebec, Canada, to New York. They settled in Janesville, Wisconsin, and moved to Sparta (Wisconsin) a few years later. In 1881, they moved again to Minnesota, and established their family in Parker's Prairie and Elmo Townships. Their children and many descendants mainly lived in Elmo and Parker's Prairie, and other towns in Minnesota. Other descendants and allied families also lived in Germany, in Nova Scotia, Ontario and Saskatchewan (Canada), and in Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Michigan, Missouri Montana, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, West Virginia, Washington, Wisconsin, and elsewhere.
