"Jacob Wendling was born before 1740 in Upper Rhine River, Baden, Germany? Died after 1816 in Montour/Northumberland/Columbia Co., Pa."--P. 7-1. In 1765, Jacob Wendling (Wandling) and his wife, Anna Maria settled in Warren County, New Jersey and were among the first settlers in Brasscastle. In 1793 they moved near Mooresburg, Pa. where Jacob later died. They had six children. Jacob is believed to be the progenitor of most of the Wendling families in America.
